To make participation affordable for groups of all sizes, Lights uses a simple formula based on group size. The monthly cost is $1 per group member, plus $50, with a minimum of $100. If a film is being used exclusively in a smaller group that is part of a larger group, fees are based on that smaller group's membership. Please get in touch to explore cost and equipment needs for your gathering in more detail.
One sermon is released each month.
The full sermons are sent to each participating congregation or gathering on a Blu-ray Disc. This makes playing and replaying the films easy and straightforward. DVD versions are available for purchase for use in small groups or by individuals.
Yes, absolutely! Once you receive the disc with the sermon, it is yours to keep and the film is licensed for use within your congregation or gathering as many times as you would like.
Absolutely not. Lights is designed to expand and enhance ministry in your congregation or gathering by exploring the Gospel visually. Lights relies on pastors and other leaders to share visual sermons in ways that strengthen community life. Our ministry works best when pastors and other leaders are active participants in screenings, laying the groundwork for each film and tying the lessons into the contexts of individual gatherings.
Films from Lights are designed to be used flexibly. They are crafted as visual sermons for worship gatherings that can be played from beginning to end. Also, they are divided into chapters so that portions can be used as visual illustrations for live sermons.
There is no deadline or time limit for using sermons. The Blu-ray discs are yours once you receive them, and the films are licensed to be used in a variety of ways. For example, some films can be used in worship and others in classes. Others can be divided up and used as illustrations for several sermons.
We are targeting sermon delivery to begin on September 15, 2017. Producing high-quality films takes significant resources and by joining the Lights cohort, you are helping us achieve this goal.
If you no longer wish to receive Lights sermons, you can cancel your subscription at any time.
Our theological perspective is best described as Reformed. The Christian Reformed Church (with which we have no affiliation) has an article you can read here which describes what that means.
